Editor's note: We're working around the clock to launch our new membership program. The new membership program will provide Members access to more properties in new destinations and markets, in addition to new and enhanced benefits of timeshare. As details are finalized, including program costs and fees, we'll be sure to share these with you.

I wasn't sure about owning a timeshare when I first bought ClubPoints in 2006, so I didn't jump in the deep end and purchase enough points to reach the top membership tier right away, and in hindsight, I wish I had.

Now with over 41,0000 points annually, I can really maximize my vacations, take advantage of booking strategies that I couldn't with fewer points and travel with less stress and hassle.

So, if unlocking all of Hilton Grand Vacations' most exclusive perks is one of your goals, here are some of the benefits that I have found helpful and make me feel like a VIP at Hilton Grand Vacations.

8 Reasons Upgrading at Hilton Grand Vacations Is Worth It

1. So Long Additional Fees

First of all, I love that I don't have transaction fees. So I can book, cancel and rebook at will without worrying about paying extra fees.

2. Hello Convenient Vacation Planning

I love that I can book vacations further in advance - 12 months for my deeded properties and nine months for non-deeded properties. Additionally, the highest membership tier affords me the flexibility to book multiple room types.

Insider tip: Don't worry if you haven't booked your airfare yet. Reserve your stay for longer and reduce the length of the stay if needed to align with the flight dates as you get closer to the vacation.

3. Check-out Like a Star

I love not worrying about checking out early. For example, if our flight doesn't leave until after 5 p.m., we can stay in the Suite and relax instead of having to check out early and kill time.

4. Exclusive Access to the Best of Best-in-Class Service

I love the dedicated Elite phone lines staffed with Hilton Grand Vacations' most knowledgeable customer service representatives. On more than one occasion, they have helped answer questions that saved me time and research I didn't need to do.

5. Did I Mention the Service?

I love the little gifts and trinkets we get at most properties upon check-in and the occasional upgrade when available. However, upgrades aren't normally an issue, because we usually book the Suites, we want thanks to the number of points we have.

6. Preferred Suite Booking

I love picking a specific floor, Suite or building as a member in the top membership tier. Of course, this perk depends on availability, but we've rarely not gotten our preferred accommodations.

7. Exclusive Transportation Services

I loved the complimentary transportation with meet and greet service to and from the airport.

I hope they bring this service back a part of the new membership program launching later this year; it was one of the most valuable benefits I used.

8. Discounted Open Season Rates

I love the deep discount for open season rates. It's my go-to for an easy long weekend getaway at great savings.

Even though some of these perks may change as Hilton Grand Vacations launches the new membership program, I'm thankful that we have as many points as we do. And I know we'll continue to feel like VIPs.
